The City of Vidor Police Department recently initiated a weekly “most wanted” list with names of individuals who have warrants for outstanding fines with the Vidor Municipal Court, and the city and its enforcers are on a mission to collect more than $1.5 million owed them from recent incidents and going back a decade.

In an effort to combat traffic violations reported by numerous citizens, Port Arthur Police are proclaiming the month of July "Zero Tolerance Month," and no traffic warnings will be issued to drivers disregarding traffic laws - only citations.

Beginning Dec. 2, Vidor drivers will begin to notice a difference when making a left turn at a traffic light. Instead of a solid green light for a permitted left turn in a left turn lane, drivers will find a flashing yellow arrow reminding them to take caution when turning. Green and red arrows for protected left turns will remain.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, FM 105 between the limits of FM1135 and FM1442 will be reduced from two lanes to one lane of traffic with flaggers at each end. The traffic closure is from Friday, Aug. 23 through Monday, Aug. 26, and then Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. for road work.

Police have identified a man killed over the weekend in an auto-pedestrian crash in Beaumont as Michael Tyrone Motton, a 28-year-old resident of Beaumont. According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, witnesses reported that at approximately 11 p.m.

One man was arrested in Orange on Sunday after a report that he was jumping in front of cars and disrupting traffic as he walked alongside North Highway 87.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to an overturned tanker truck on Interstate 10 eastbound near Brush Island Road (between Hamshire and Winnie, Texas). The tanker truck was loaded with pure ethanol, which is highly flammable, explosive and can cause respiratory difficulty. The tanker was involved in a one vehicle accident at approximately 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 2. The driver was transported to Baptist Hospital Beaumont.
