Union Pacific crews, according to a Texas Department of Transportation press release, will close several railroad crossings over the next several days for repairs.All closings are expected to last one day each from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedules for construction, maintenance, and repairs are subject to change, including extensions and postponement, due to weather or other factors. Motorists are asked to be aware of all detour signs and advance warnings, and to proceed with caution.

Beginning Monday, June 9, the Texas Department of Transportation will host a series of 25 statewide public meetings to welcome citizens’ feedback on a long-range plan for the state’s future transportation needs. A meeting will be held in Beaumont Tuesday, June 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission.

Drivers heading to work in Port Arthur should expect road delays Monday morning, May 12 as the Port Arthur Police and Texas Department of Transportation will closing off several southbound lanes on Highway 69 to reconstruct an accident that occurred on May 2.

Several southbound lanes of Highway 69 will be closed starting at 9 a.m. and will be remain so for 2 to 3 hours. There will only be one lane open on Highway 69 South, so motorists heading into Port Arthur should expect delays.

The Texas Department of Transportation today announced the launch of a new Web-based  Crash Report Online Purchase System that allows the public to immediately access vehicle crash reports. Filed with TxDOT by law enforcement agencies, these reports often are requested by individuals seeking documentation of a crash.

Monday, Dec. 9, drivers may have noticed a difference when making a left turn at some traffic lights in Vidor.

Instead of a solid green light for a permitted left turn in a left turn lane, drivers will find a flashing yellow arrow reminding them to take caution when turning. Green and red arrows for protected left turns will remain.

In an effort to help Texas drivers keep their child passengers properly secured, the Texas Department of Transportation announced it is offering free, year-round child safety seat inspections conducted by certified technicians. The inspections are available by appointment at each of TxDOT’s 25 district offices.
