The Texas Department of Transportation is conducting a public hearing Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Beaumont Civic Center to present proposed rail improvements and receive public comment pertaining to the Neches River Bridge Study.

Displays will be available for review at 5:30 p.m. The formal hearing begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Texas Department of Transportation announced workers will be removing concrete barriers through July 17, necessitating lane closures along portions of US 69 throughout the week, starting July 10.

On Sunday, July 10, US 69 northbound lanes were closed at the Lucas overpass to open the new Dowlen Road exit ramp. Traffic was diverted at the Delaware exit ramp to detour onto the northbound frontage road.

The following closures apply for the rest of the week through July 17.

BEAUMONT – Alternating lane closures on US 69 northbound at Lucas with traffic possibly detoured to the frontage road Sunday night, March 6, 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Crews will be moving concrete traffic barrier.

ORANGE – The inside, westbound lane of Interstate 10 in Orange from Simmons Drive to Highway 87 will be closed nightly Saturday-Monday night, March 5-7, 7 p.m.-6 a.m. to work on the Highway 87 overpass.
