A 34-year-old Lumberton, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for child exploitation violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Sept. 29.

George Patrick Ashy pleaded guilty on June 27 to two counts of production of child pornography and was sentenced to a total of 420 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

A 44-year-old Houston woman pleaded guilty to federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales July 26.

Nhung Tuyet Nguyen, also known as Sandy Nguyen, pleaded guilty to theft of government property before U.S. Magistrate Judge Zack Hawthorn.

U.S. Attorney John Malcolm Bales announced May 9 that 11 Jefferson County men are in custody following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking involving the distribution of crack cocaine in the Eastern District of Texas.

According to a news release from the U.S Attorney's office, a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies began executing federal arrest warrants on May 6 for defendants indicted following a ten-month investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine in Beaumont.
