A victim was shot in an aggravated robbery was committed the night of Saturday, August 25 at a1480 IH-10 E (Valero). Officers were on scene within 3 minutes of receiving the call of a robbery in progress, however the suspects had already fled the area on foot. According to a press release from BPD, preliminary investigation revealed that three black male suspects approached an employee in the parking lot of the business and forced him back inside the store at gunpoint. Once inside the store one of the suspects jumped the front counter and demanded money from the clerk.

On August 17, around 6 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a robbery in progress call at the Valero gas station on Twin City Highway at Spurlock Road, Capt. Crystal Holmes said in a release.

Valero Port Arthur refinery employees went above and beyond this holiday season to gather a hefty donation for the United Way of Mid and South Jefferson County. Through employee pledges, fundraisers and funds matched by the company, a check for $752,169 was presented to United Way on Tuesday, Dec. 1, during a banquet at the refinery’s administration building.
