A multi-vehicle accident caused one of the cars to catch fire on I-10 eastbound in Vidor, Texas Department of Public Safety reports. The accident occurred at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

A 1965 Ford Falcon was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near Rose City when the right tire came off of the Ford, sending the vehicle into a spin. The Ford struck the inside concrete barrier and became disabled in the roadway. The dislodged tire from the Ford struck a 2011 Chrysler passenger vehicle.

The City of Vidor is accepting applications for Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grants for fiscal year 2016-17, and the Sept. 7 deadline for eligible businesses to apply is fast approaching.

According to Vidor City Manager Mike Kunst, HOT grants are basically meant to put “heads into beds” at local hotels.
