Hardin-Jefferson High School Principal Dr. Diana Valdez will now head Beaumont Independent School District’s West Brook High School in the 2016-17 school year, the BISD Board of Managers announced during a meeting Tuesday, June 21.

As the West Brook High School Bruins football team prepares to take the field Thursday, Oct. 15, against Baytown Sterling at the BISD’s Thomas Stadium, the group’s booster club will honor a special supporter during the pre-game ceremony.

 West Brook Bruin football players will hold their second annual free car wash in the Alex Durley Stadium parking lot Saturday morning, Aug. 15, from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Besides early 6 a.m. practice sessions this week, the Bruins have been out asking friends and family for 10 cent pledges for every car they wash on Saturday.  If the Bruins meet their 100-car goal, that would add up to $10 from each donor.

The Jefferson County Young Lawyer’s Association hosted the 36th annual Texas High School Mock Trial Competition on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Jefferson County Courthouse. After two rounds, the top two teams competed in a final trial to see who would be going to state.

Andrew Li

While there’s nothing to stop parents from planning for college from the moment a child takes his first breath, the reality is that the parents of most kids have maybe 18 years before they have to make any hard decisions. But Andrew Li isn’t like most kids.

Li’s mom and dad, who immigrated from China in 1995, have found themselves firming up college plans, asking where their son will go to college just like the parents of other West Brook High School kids.

“My parents say I should go to Rice or something,” said Andrew.
