The Goo Goo Dolls are one of the most successful rock bands of the last three decades, and for the first time, they’ll perform inside the Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Tickets for the Sunday, Dec. 4, show start at $49 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or at the Beaumont Civic Center box office.

From Buffalo, New York, singer John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac got together in 1986 and have gone on to sell more than 12 million albums and secure many Grammy nominations.

The Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST) continues its Classics Series at the Julie Rogers Theatre (765 Pearl) in downtown Beaumont on Saturday, Nov. 19, with “Triumphant Tchaikovsky,” featuring wonderful triumphs from one of the greatest composers of all time. Beethoven’s “Egmont Overture,” Bizet’s Symphony in C and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto make for an international program of time-honored classics. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Singer, songwriter and master guitarist Hamilton Loomis returns to Madison’s on Dowlen this Friday, Nov. 18, for ages 21 and older. “If blues, soul, and rock can be said to form a triangle, you’ll find Hamilton Loomis right in the center of it,” says Guitar Player magazine.

Courville’s, tickets are still available for Walt Wilkins and the Mystiqueros on Friday, Dec. 23, and Zac Wilkerson and Midnight River Choir on Thursday, Dec. 29. Tickets are $30 and include a buffet dinner. Wilkins is no stranger to Courville’s (1744 Rose Lane, Beaumont).

National country recording artist Lonestar will headline Freedom Fest outside at Ford Pavilion on Sunday, Oct. 30, with gates opening at 2 p.m. Lawn seats are $5, and seating under the pavilion will be $25. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at eventbrite.com or at Ford Park.

Pioneering contemporary Christian recording artist Carman returns to the stage once again after a life-threatening battle with cancer. He presents a brand new concept, appropriately named “CinemaSonic Experience” — a concert, movie, play and crusade all in one.

Surrounded by six giant LED screens, Carman will bring people out of their seats and rolls back the clock. It’s an evening of miracles; the first is seeing a man who’s led over a million people to Christ shake off certain death to once again dazzle the crowds.

Two of the biggest names in the metal rock world have joined together for a co-headlining Return of the Dreads summer tour with legendary acts Korn and Rob Zombie, along with special guest In This Moment. The show plays the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavil­ion on Wednesday, Aug. 3, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.

Musical geniuses of The Darkness will grace us with their presence on Tuesday, April 19 as the strapping lads of Britain perform on the Back to the USSA Tour at the House of Blues for an all ages extravaganza. 

Unless you have little to no taste in music, let me remind you The Darkness delivered us here in North America the album Permission to Land, which featured the beautiful song “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” in 2003.
