Music fans are in for a treat as a dynamic group of musicians called The Magpie Salute including guitarists Rich Robinson and Marc Ford of The Black Crowes perform in downtown Houston at Revention Music Hall on Friday, Oct. 20 with doors opening for the all ages show opening at 7 p.m.

The City of Beaumont will host Oktoberfest at Rogers Park on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 3-8 p.m., a free event for all agents. There will be a beer garden, food and plenty of entertainment from performances by Paul Childers, Mayeaux & Broussard and a polka performance from the Royal Klobasneks. From Nashville, Childers is a new breed of singer/songwriters and guitarists. He is trying to challenge everything you thought you knew about the future of music.

Texas native and musician Cody Johnson will perform at Ford Arena on Friday, Nov. 17, as a part of the Concerts For The Coast series, with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefiting Johnson’s own Cojo Foundation, which will then donate the money directly back into the market that raised the money.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. on ticketmaster.com and the Ford Park box office, with prices starting at $20.

Gal Holiday & The Honky Tonk Revue returns to the Logon Café on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 9 p.m. The group was at the vanguard of New Orleans’ now-thriving country scene when forming over a decade ago, combining evocative songwriting, impeccable musicianship, and a twinge of punk sensibility with infectious Western swing energy. “The Gal” is Vanessa Niemann, an Appalachian-born songstress who has lent her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence to various musical projects in New Orleans and around the country.

Hank and Cupcakes are coming to Beaumont to perform at the Logon Café on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 9 p.m. with no cover charge for all ages. The New York Post calls Hank (Ariel Scherbacovsky) and Cupcakes (Sagit Shir) a “funky fresh sound,” so if you have never seen them live, here’s your chance. The duo flew to Berlin in 2012 to record their debut record at the famous Hansa Studios where U2, David Bowie, R.E.M, Iggy Pop and many more legends have recorded legendary music, with Swedish producer Ludwig Boss.
