It’s three movies in two nights at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont, including two classic movies and one premier. 

A double feature of “Big Trouble in Little China” and “Kung Fu Hustle” is scheduled Friday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults. 

Starring Kurt Russell and Kim Cattrall, the 1986 “Big Trouble in Little China” is an action-comedy that follows a rough and tumble trucker (Russell), along with his sidekick, who face off with an ancient sorcerer in a supernatural battle beneath Chinatown. The film is Rated PG-13 and is 1 hour and 39 minutes. 

“Kung Fu Hustle” debuted in 2004. In Shanghai, China in the 1940s, a wannabe gangster aspires to join the notorious “Axe Gang” while residents of a housing complex exhibit extraordinary powers in defending their turf. The movie is Rated R and is also 1 hour and 39 minutes. 

Studio 220 Films will premier “The First Step” on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. After David suffers a personal tragedy, he heads down a dark road, away from all that he loves… including God. Now he must face the demons in his life, and find the courage to take the first step back home.

“The First Step” is a Texas film created by Texas residents and was shot on location in Southeast Texas. Directed by Jerry Loncon, the movie stars Josmery Mulvahill, Chad Illa-Petersen and Myles Meyer.
