Perverted probationer reoffends

A Beaumont man has been arrested once again for invading the privacy of local women. Larry Mayfield Jr., 37, was arrested on June 8, when a Beaumont PD officer working security at Walmart was notified that the suspect had taken photos underneath a woman’s skirt.

Mayfield was interviewed and bonded out of jail following his arrest. BPD Special Crimes Detectives continued their investigation, and on Tuesday, June 13, a motion to revoke probation warrant was issued, and Mayfield was arrested again.

Following an incident in October 2020, Mayfield was sentenced to five years probation in two cases of invasive visual recordings.

Detectives report that evidence indicates there are numerous additional victims and that Mayfeild had recently frequented grocery stores, retail establishments and gas stations while recording intimate areas of women in public spaces, getting extremely close to the victims, causing them to notice and even speak to him.

Beaumont PD is asking anyone who may recognize Mayfield to contact Special Crimes Detectives at (409) 880-3840 so that additional victims can be identified.
