Beautiful belles

The Symphony League of Beaumont presented their Symphony Ball last Saturday evening at the Beaumont Civic Center. Themed “La Bella Notte – Nel Giardino Sinfonico,” which translates to “The Beautiful Night in the Symphony Garden,” Belle chair Kathryn Messina and ball chair Veronica Melancon were thrilled with the enchanted evening. Beaus were presented were Ford Phelan, Reece Williams, Evan Rodriguez, Christian Matthews, Cane Paschal, Carter Cavett, John Kelsey, Jackson Newton, William White, Barrett Groves, Samuel Mondello, Stephen Reynolds Jr. and Owen Sieve. And finally, the beautiful Belles were Anna White, Elizabeth Vitanza, Brentley Tillery, Skylar Redmon, Clara Owens, Killian Myrick, Alexandra Morrell, Olivia Messina, Emmy Malley, Piper Lewis, Olivia Knott, Julianna Kaiser, Camilla Henderson, Ava Henderson, Julianne Heinz,  Heidi Hales, Camille Groves, Audrey Groves, Hannah Greenberg, Julianna Gertz, Reya Escobedo, Camille Echendu, Chloe Echendu, Gabrielle Buckley, Virginia Broussard, Emma Brekel, Olivia Barrington, Peyton Barnes and Fallyn Audilet. A truly magical evening, which also showed amazing volunteerism from these wonderful ladies!

Shine bright like a diamond… The 75th anniversary of the Neches River Festival is officially underway as the Information Meeting for princesses, duchesses and escorts along with their parents was held last Sunday at the Julie Rogers Theatre. Social chair Ashley Edson Bryan welcomed everyone and then introduced Princess chairs Christina Crawford and Ronda Harkey as well as NRF President Fuller McSpadden. Duchess chair Mary Margaret Groves explained the ways Beaumont participants could welcome out-of-town guests, who will also partake in the festival. Escort chairs Christi Lawdermilk and Kirksey Reynolds managed to soothe the nerves of the escorts and their moms, while Executive Director Molly Moore discussed community partner relationships and the importance of attendance to the many activities provided for each group. The first community event will be the 5K Capes and Crowns on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Downtown Event Centre’s Great Lawn. See you at the finish line!

Excited about… Dishman Art Museum and The Art Studio will celebrate 40 years with an inspiring collaborative exhibition of artwork by Lynn Sweat and Maudee Carron. This artistic event takes place on Friday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m.
