The Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center will serve as host to Port Arthur Pass Solo Tour Stop #4 the weekend of Saturday, July 22, also doubling as a live taping destination from 1 to 4 p.m. for the Elite Fishing Series Weigh-In to air on the Discovery Channel.

All teams, clubs, church groups, organizations and Port Arthur aficionados are invited to attend for free. Admission is just the cost of showing up – preferably donning a team shirt or Port Arthur swag – or, reserve a free space to set up a table and exhibit and share promotional items. Space is limited.

This will be the first ever Elite Fishing Series weigh-in and indoor fishing expo taking place at the Bob Bowers Civic Center free to the public, and free to participating vendors, with food, drinks, entertainment and more.

“The temperatures will be hot but the fishing promises to be hotter and, once inside the cool air of the Bob Bowers Civic Center, anglers, their families and friends will get a chance to watch an exciting weigh-in of professional anglers both live and on the giant size screen above the stage,” organizers shared in advance of the event. “This taping is a great way to show the world some of the passion we locals have for our city, which is celebrating its Quasquicentennial – 125th year.”

At the expo, the frogg toggs Elite Solo Tour Pros will be concluding the regular season and fighting for the contest’s $10,000 first place check, as well as one of the final spots in the 2023 National Championship taking place in September.

Visit Port Arthur will be giving out free Port Arthur Fishing Guides and Port Arthur swag.

Enjoy food trucks, live music and the tour’s two-part weigh-in. Anyone and everyone taking part in Saturday’s festivities will be privy to, all at no charge: food, entertainment, community organizations and clubs, Boy Scouts and high school teams, marine and outdoor offerings, and a view of the indoor stage set up with sound and lighting when the kayak pros get it all started at 3 p.m. in a precursor to what will be a grand finale’ to the regular season on the frogg toggs Elite Solo Tour Series.

“The Port Arthur Pass Pro Fishing Tournament is going to be a good time and a great opportunity to feature so much of what makes Port Arthur, Texas one of the top fishing spots along the Gulf Coast,” PA Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Darrah Doiron shared.
