A blaze completely destroyed a vacant metal building at the corner of Gulf Street and Harrison Avenue in Beaumont on Aug. 13.

Beaumont Fire and Rescue District Chief Scott Wheat reported that firefighters responded to the fire about 8 p.m. and the fire was contained about 10 p.m. Eight fire engines and two ladder trucks were called to the scene. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for a heat-related issue.

The building, which was for sale, once served as an electrical warehouse named West Buford Electrical Supply Co.

The cause of the blaze had not been determined as of press time.
