Kelley resigns as Chamber executive director

Silsbee Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sonja Kelley announced resignation of her post, effective June 30, according to a statement released June 8.

“It is with a mix of emotions that I make this decision. Over the past four years, it has been an honor and privilege to serve as the executive director of this organization.

“After careful consideration and personal reflection, I have concluded that it is time for me to pursue new challenges and opportunities in my career. It was not an easy decision, as I have developed deep connections with the board members, and the Silsbee community. I have truly cherished the relationships I have built and the valuable experiences I have gained here.”

According to Kelley, she’ll ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities during the transition period, and would also like to be a part of the Chamber in a new position either on the board or as an ambassador.
