The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) announced that the varsity football program at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School must forfeit three wins from earlier this season.

The violations stemmed from using an ineligible player, or players, during three wins against St. Pius (Sept. 1), Concordia Lutheran (Sept. 8) and Tarkington (Sept. 15). TAPPS ruled the games were forfeited due to violations of Section 104 (Transfer Rule), Section 135 (Athletic Eligibility) and Section 87 (Improper Solicitation of Students) of the TAPPS By-Laws.

Public reprimands were issued to Kelly athletic director Erik Martinez, head football coach Mike Long and assistant Frank Middleton. Both Martinez and Long were also put on TAPPS probation through June 2026 while Middleton was suspended for two games.

The Bulldogs are now 2-6 overall, and 1-2 in district play, after beating Katy St. John XXIII, 41-0, last Friday, Oct. 20.
