SETX provider named Prevention Specialist of the Year

Kim Bartel, M.B.A., C.P.S., data coordinator for the Region 5 Prevention Resource Center for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council, received the PRC Prevention Specialist of the Year award at the Annual Prevention Providers' Meeting in Austin recently.

“This was a tremendous honor not only for Kim, but for the entire Region 5 Prevention Resource Center team,” said Melanie Patterson, manager of the center at the council. “Kim demonstrates his passion for data and substance misuse prevention on a daily basis and is an encouragement to all who work with him. We appreciate him and his dedication and congratulate him on bringing home this prestigious award.”

The award recognizes a prevention specialist who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and success in providing critical resources and support to prevention professionals, community coalitions, and other partners working to prevent and address substance use, mental health and other public health challenges.
