Sept. 21, Tyler County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies arrested a 17-year-old male for making a felony terroristic threat to a school. According to Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, Chassin Tausch of Colmesneil was arrested and booked into the Tyler County Jail.

Approximately at 5 p.m., TCSO deputies responded to Colmesneil ISD, in response to a report of a terroristic threat. While on scene, deputies gathered evidence including multiple witness statements and video footage from the school.

Deputies were informed the student made threats to shoot other students after an argument earlier in the day. They interviewed multiple students who corroborated the threat and were also able to view video footage showing the student appearing to mimic pointing a rifle toward other students.

Deputies presented a probable cause affidavit to Justice of the Peace Ken Jobe who issued an arrest warrant for the student.
