Three people were taken to a Beaumont hospital for treatment after they were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County on June 10 just before 2 p.m.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) preliminary reports indicate that the crash occurred when a 2022 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer and a 2014 Hyundai Elantra traveling east slowed due to traffic and were struck from behind by a 2001 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer that then caught fire. DPS reported that debris from the 2001 Freightliner spilled into the westbound lanes and was struck by two other commercial motor vehicles. There were no injuries sustained during the secondary crash, according to DPS.

Injured from the primary collision were Kyle Taylor, 43, of Pennsylvania, driver of the 2022 Freightliner; Dwight Hampton, 47, of Humble, driver of the 2001 Freightliner; and Nasser Benamar, 41, of Houston, driver for the 2014 Hyundai.
