Shooting suspects indicted on 21 felony charges

June 15, a Jasper County grand jury indicted six alleged post-prom mass shooting suspects on 21 felony charges, reported KJAS.com, after grand jurors considered testimony and evidence submitted by District Attorney Anne Pickle and staff pertaining to two separate – but related – shootings the night of the local prom.

The first shooting occurred on April 23 during an after-prom party at a residence on County Road 263, just north of Jasper. The suspects reportedly opened gunfire on an after-prom party, leaving 11 teenagers injured. The second occurred a short time later. Law enforcement suspects the same people involved in the mass shooting drove through an east Jasper neighborhood firing shots.

The six male suspect indicted are:

• Cameron Rashod Hartsfield, 19, of Newton, and Chesten Alexander Hartsfield, 18, of Newton, each indicted on five counts of engaging in organized criminal activity by committing two acts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of deadly conduct/discharging a firearm, and one count of deadly conduct.

• Tracy Antoine Hickman, 19, of Newton, indicted on three counts of engaging in organized criminal activity by committing two acts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of deadly conduct.

• Tyler Porter, 19, of Newton, indicted on four counts of engaging in organized criminal activity by committing two acts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one act of deadly conduct/discharging a firearm, and one act of deadly conduct.

• Jacquis Tayshun Bell, 19, of Jasper, indicted on two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity by committing one act of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one act of deadly conduct.

• Elias Terrell Brumley, 22, of Jasper, indicted on two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity by committing two acts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
