Local school board nominated for award

The Texas Association of School Administrators announced one local school board has been nominated for the 2023 Outstanding School Board award, and 12 school district boards have been selected as regional nominees for the 2023 TASA School Board Awards. The Region 5 nominee for 2023 Outstanding School Board of the Year is the West Orange-Cove CISD Board of Trustees. The board, comprised of Tricia Stroud, Linda Platt-Bryant, Gina Yeaman, Demetrius Hunter, Roderick Robertson, Dr. Rickie Harris, Donny Teate Jr. and Tommy Wilson Sr., was nominated by Superintendent Rickie Harris.

An awards committee will select up to five of the nominated boards to be recognized as “honor boards” later this month.
