Scooter rider holds up hotel guest

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) is searching for a “scooter-riding, gun-toting robber,” who allegedly pulled up on a scooter to an individual in the Motel 6 parking lot at approximately 2 a.m. on Aug. 6 and robbed the victim of their cash and phone at gunpoint.

The suspect then, “quickly scooted off into the night.” He is described as about 20-30 years old, with a scruffy beard, short haircut, and cross-eyed. He was carrying a black backpack and may hang around local motels, still riding the scooter.
