A search warrant, the result of an extensive investigation, led to the arrest of a local man on multiple charges, reported the Beaumont Police Department (BPD).

According to the agency, narcotics detectives served a search warrant about 8 a.m. Aug. 31 at a residence in the 700 block of Pinchback Road. The target of the investigation, Marsel Davis, 31, of Beaumont, was stopped and arrested on a traffic stop for outstanding warrants prior to the execution of the warrant. Detectives seized from Davis a Glock 48 model pistol and approximately $1,100 in cash.

BPD SWAT secured the residence and the two occupants inside — an elderly female and toddler.

Narcotics detectives searched the home and located an AR-style rifle, a miniature AK-style rifle, 26 grams of powder fentanyl, 10 grams of Percocetstyle pressed pills (also suspected fentanyl), and 8 ounces of marijuana.

Davis was transported to Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked in for two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and outstanding warrants.

Federal charges will be pursued in reference to the firearms seized.
