‘Cardinal View’ LU hosts open house

Lamar University (LU) is inviting prospective students and their families to Cardinal View on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. inside of the Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center, 4405 Jimmy Simmons Blvd. Car- dinal View is LU’s largest open house event every semester, where attendees can tour the university campus and learn about academic majors, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, student organizations, campus resources and more.

“Cardinal View continues to grow each semester, and we can’t wait to host prospective students and their families so they can see what life at Lamar University is all about,” Angela Fanette, director of the LU Welcome Center, said of the event that offers guided tours, academic showcases and a campus resource fair, as well as entrance into attendees a contest awarding multiple scholarships throughout the day. “Over $2,500 in scholarship opportunities are available just by attending, and it is a great way to learn more about over 60 degree programs offered here on campus.”
