‘Inclusion Works’

Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas is hosting a special event Oct. 26 to high- light National Disability Employer Awareness month. The theme, Inclusion Works, will be presented by award-win- ning author, professor and autism advo- cate, Dr. Temple Grandin. Her autism journey from speechless toddler to induction into The National Women’s Hall of Fame and The Academy of Arts and Sciences – a story made into an HBO movie – is presented as inspirational, uplifting, and a positive driver of change for inclusion in the workplace.

Grandin exhibited symptoms of severe autism at two years old, nonverbal until early intensive speech therapy enabled her to speak by age four. An HBO movie was made about her life.
