Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) is holding an Adjunct Job Fair from 2-4 p.m. November 7 in the LIT Eagles’ Nest Building, 855 E. Lavaca. Following the in-person fair, there will be a virtual option from 4-5 p.m.

“We are seeking individuals from all fields to consider educating our next generation of workforce,” said Beth Knape, Director of Human Resources. “This is a great opportunity for those who want a secondary income, part-time work or have a passion for passing on their knowledge and expertise.”

In an effort to support high-quality adjunct instructors, LIT has also increased the adjunct pay rate to $50 an hour, per instructional equivalent hour (effective Spring 2024). LIT has adjunct openings in the following areas: economics, accounting, logistics, data analytics, cosmetology, English, math, biology, physics, chemistry, technology and more.

“Flexible arrangements are often available for these positions that will accommodate most schedules,” said Knape. “Our adjuncts also receive access to LIT’s Teaching and Learning Center for continuing education.”

Candidates are encouraged to bring their resume and transcripts with them to the job fair. Virtual attendees must register at https://lit.edu/adjunct-job-fair. For more information, contact LIT Human Resources at 409-981-6824 or HR@lit.edu.
