Police chase ends with two in custody

A Louisiana man and a juvenile were and taken into custody after a police pursuit by Beaumont Police Department (BPD) officers on Jan. 19.

According to BPD, Criminal Interdiction officers stopped an eastbound white Honda for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 at 3:30 p.m. and, during the officers’ investigation, the juvenile driver drove away and a vehicle pursuit ensued throughout the city until the Honda came to a stop at the end of the Highland Drive extension near the oil fields.

Both suspects were arrested without incident and found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl and an AR-style pistol. Investigators also discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from an armed robbery in Louisiana.

The adult occupant, still a teenager, 19-year-old Kabran Sinegal, was taken to Jefferson County Correctional Facility; the juvenile was transported to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Facility. Charges are listed as unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful carry of a weapon, evading in a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
