Boomtown Film Fest will screen shorts before the 1977 dance-drama, “Saturday Night Fever,” which stars John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young Italian-American who spends his weekends dancing and drinking at a local disco while dealing with social tensions and disillusionment in his working-classic ethnic neighborhood in Brooklyn. The movie had a tremendous impact on pop culture and its soundtrack went on to become one of the best-selling movie soundtracks of all-time thanks to the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep is Your Love,” “Night Fever” and “Jive Talkin.’”
