The museum will host a day filled with fun and education. In addition to free admission to the museum during the event, there will be animal experiences, balloon animals and other circus entertainers, and crafts and games for the kids. The 39,000 square foot Museum is located at 700 Procter St. in downtown Port Arthur. The museum tells the exciting story of the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast region, beginning with paleontology and biology. Permanent exhibits include a section on Native Americans, European contact, the Texas Navy, the Civil War, economic and cultural growth, the petroleum industry, and the region’s maritime history as well as multiple sports and musical hall of fames.
