Within hours, Orange police reported that detectives had a “person of interest” identified in connection to a June 17 shooting that sent one man to the hospital with a chest wound.

Orange Police Department Captain W. K. Longlois reported that officers were called to Fox Run Apartments, located at 2600 Allie Payne Road in Orange, on June 17 at 7:40 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

“There it was found that a 25-year-old male had been shot once in the upper chest,” Longlois reported. “The male was conscious and alert, but in serious condition. He was transported to an area hospital by Acadian EMS.”

Detectives identified a person of interest and are continuing the investigation into this case, although no arrests have been reported.

“I realize this leaves many questions, but it is all I can do at this stage of the investigation,” Longlois added.
