Experience a vivid, dramatic and moving experience under a customized traveling tent as Cirque Italia presents “The Slammer,” a unique show that will expose the crowd to a unique creation of combined theatre, the journey of the true story of Alcatraz and the circus with a Cirque Italia style flare Feb. 17-21 at Ford Park.

Cirque Slammer is the story of two best friends who were framed for murder and must navigate the world’s most dangerous prison populated by some of the world’s most dangerous and talented guards and inmates.

The show combines a gripping narrative, amazing aerial and acrobatic artistry, sensual cabaret dancing, Broadway style musical performance, and side-splitting comedy, all showcased in a unique, immersive experience that is so much more than an average circus.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. for Feb. 17-18; 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 19; 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20; and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.

Since their opening in 2012, Cirque Italia has received national praise and accolades for their unique ability of fusing traditional circus acts with new and unexpected mediums, resulting in sensational Cirque experiences.

Cirque Alcatraz features riveting aerial acts, jaw-dropping stunts, incredible displays of human strength and balance, mystifying illusions and hilarious comedy while guiding the audience through the narrative.

This production is Rated R due to the raw content of the story. Although there is no nudity, there is adult language, acts of simulated violence and suggestive dialogue and situations. Children under the age of 13 and up must be accompanied by an adult, 21 years or older. Those below 13 will not be granted a ticket.
