The Golden Triangle Big Band is set to make their debut with “A Night of Nestico” concert at the Jefferson Theatre (345 Fannin St.) on Saturday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. This exciting event will showcase the talented musicians of The Golden Triangle Big Band as they pay tribute to the music of Sammy Nestico, one of the most renowned composers and arrangers in the big band era. The band is dedicated to preserving the tradition of big band music and bringing it to life for audiences of all ages.

Nestico was a member of the United States Air Force Band in Washington D.C. for 15 years, serving as staff arranger and leader of the famed Airmen of Note. Later, he enlisted with the United States Marine Band and served as chief arranger and director of the White House orchestra during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. He was the composer/arranger for the Count Basie Orchestra, which won four Grammy awards. Netstico went on to arrange and conduct albums for Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Nancy Wilson, Barbra Streisand and many others. His arrangements have been performed and recorded by the leading symphonies, but he is most proud of his nearly 600 titles published in the educational field and played in the schools of America.

Entry to the concert is free, but patrons must have a ticket to enter. Tickets for “A Night of Nestico” are available at the Beaumont Civic Center box office and at the Jefferson Theatre box office starting at 5 p.m. on the night of the concert.
