United Way’s “Hometown Huddle – One Pot Throwdown” returns Thursday, Oct. 13, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Beaumont Civic Center (701 Main St.).

The event features several cook teams from local Southeast Texas companies and restaurants, as they put their own spin on a unique concept: if it can be cooked in a pot, and served in a bowl, it qualifies!

Guests will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite dishes throughout the event, and the evening will include: all-you-can-eat tastings, adult beverages, live entertainment by local musical power duo Caleb & April, fun raffles and more.

Tickets are $35-$40 and can be purchased online at uwbmt.org.

Funds raised will benefit 36 programs of United Way’s 20 local non-profit partner agencies including Anayat House, The Arc of Greater Beaumont, Boys’ Haven of America, Inc., Three Rivers Council, Capland Speech Therapy Center, Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, Communities In Schools of Southeast Texas, Family Services of Southeast Texas, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, Legacy Community Health, Nutrition & Services for Seniors, Crisis Center of Southeast Texas, Recovery Council of Southeast Texas, the Salvation Army of Beaumont, Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas, Shorkey Center, Southeast Texas Family Resource Center, Southeast Texas Food Bank and Southeast Texas Hospice.
