Interview with Mark Tremonti of rock supergroup Alter Bridge

Subhead

Rock supergroup Alter Bridge returns to the area to perform in nearby Lake Charles, La., on Friday, Jan. 31, at the Grand Event Center inside the Golden Nugget at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for 21 and older show are $15-$30 and can be purchased online at goldennugget.com.

The band, which features Myles Kennedy on vocals, Mark Tremonti on guitar, Brian Marshall on bass, and Scott Phillips on drums, is touring in support of their sixth record, Walk The Sky, which is a fantastic effort with highlighted tracks including Wouldn’t You Rather,” “Pay No Mind” and “Godspeed.” I really dig the song “Forever Falling,” which Tremonti sings vocals.

I was first introduced to this band in 2004 when they released their debut One Day Remains. The single “One Day Remains” blew up on rock radio then came my personal Alter Bridge favorite, “Metalingus,” which is used by WWE superstar Edge as his entrance theme music.

Tremonti was gracious enough to speak with The Examiner about the new record, upcoming tour and more.
