Grammy award-winning band The Mavericks will perform at the Jefferson Theatre on Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. Ticket prices start at $36 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com.

The eclectic rock and country group known for crisscrossing musical boundaries with abandon, has gone through three distinct phases since it was founded in Miami in 1989. An initial period of heady success marked by big hits and critical acclaim in the ‘90s. A long hiatus starting 2003 when the musicians each went their own way. And finally, a triumphant reunion in 2012 which held long enough for them to recently celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.

Now, The Mavericks have ushered in the fourth phase of their evolution with the No. 1 Billboard debut of their first-ever all Spanish album, “En Español.”

Fusing traditional country with a rich variety of rock, pop, and Latin influences, the Mavericks became one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful groups of the early 1990s with hits like “What a Crying Shame,” “Here Comes the Rain,” “All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down” and “I Don’t Care (If You Love Me Anymore).”

The band were honored in 2021 with the Trailblazer Award at the Americana Music Honors. Their shows surge with danceable rhythm, horns, bilingual singing and the dark twang of guitar player Eddie Perez. Singer/songwriter Raul Malo and drummer Paul Deakin have been Mavericks since the beginning, but the talented current lineup suggests a fruitful future.

The Jefferson Theatre is located at 345 Fannin in downtown Beaumont.
