The inaugural Beaulympics will go as planned Saturday, July 17, but will move outside from the downtown Event Centre's Great Lawn to the friendly confines of the Beaumont Civic Center.

]As a dual indoor-outdoor event, the Beaumont CVB now has the ability to spread out even more to provide a true showcase of downtown Beaumont and all its wonderful organizations.

The event will feature games, crafts, and the ExxonMobil Kid’s Zone, which includes inflatables and Bubblepalooza, plus outside for the headline attractions like the “Try”athalon, food competitions, Gator races and shows and beer garden. All games and activities inside are free, as well as the headline shows and entertainment.

“It’s unbelievable, since moving the date, we’ve gotten even more enthusiasm and involvement," said Beaumont CVB Marketing Director Christina Lokey. "With over 80 groups now participating, this has truly been an all hands-on deck initiative for the community by the community. You’ll be introduced to new businesses, groups and revisit some of your old favorites around Southeast Texas.

Beaulympics will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
