Incredible ladies

The Anayat House hosted their always fantastic annual gala. Katie Celli, with the assistance of Executive Director Tressa Clarke, Board President Kate Davis and board members, created an amazing evening to honor several of our wonderful efficient and caring female physicians. Adhering to this year’s Wonder Women theme were honorees, and doctors, Jane Angel, Iumy Torres-Barja, Brandy Bergeron, Marissa Curry, Laurie Jansky, Seema Kansara, Jennifer Kresta, Sharon Marchand, Waheeda Mithani, Deborah Sherman, Lauree Thompson, T. Renee Brown-Nembhard and Janna Nunez-Gussman. Dancing to the sensational sounds of Pop Gun were Stephanie and Bernie Daleo, Crissy and Bill Darling, Cherrie and Alan Hefty, Laurie and Shea Kent, Elaine and Charlie Jabbia, Lee Ann and Terry Garth, Sandra Clark, Jo Vance, Paige and Wade Carpenter, Tootsie Crutchfield, Pat Klein, Betty Clarke, Shelly and Carl Vitanza, Allison and Mike Gilbert, Sara and Paul Norman, Maris Mehaffy, Haley Faggard, Temple and Russell Perry, Nadine and Galin Latham, Lauren and Chad Mason, Lauren and David Thieme, Lauren and Cash Williams, Dynasy and Lan Phelan, Camille and Chris Ohmstede, just to name a few.

A wise couple… Katie and Frank Celli won the “Not So Newlywed” favorite couple during the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas’ fifth annual fundraiser at the downtown Event Centre. Other celebrity couples vying for the win were Lisa and Brent Coon, Lindsay and Baylor Wortham, Lisa and Ray Callas, and Trisha and Larry Spears. Judging the contest were Sherrie and Jeff Branick, and Glynis and John Gothia. Proceeds from the event helps provide professional counseling services to individuals and families.

Oops… an apology is in order to Stephanie Rutledge, who was the décor designer/chair of the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Foundation’s La Soirée FantaSea Gala. She did an amazing job! Can’t wait to see next year’s gala!

Artistic endeavor… Last Saturday, the Beaumont Art League hosted a members exhibition titled “Romance” in conjunction with a Valentine’s theme for February. Judging the talented artists and their work were Caitlin Clay and Dario Bucheli. Place first was Jamie Paul Kessler; Wayne Goodman second; and Antonia Maria Marino was third. Gaining honorable mention were Rob Clark, Linda Hearn, Faye Nelson, Tina Novelli, Jane Silvernail and David Taylor.  In the mix were Shari and Bill Callahan, Russell Smith, Amy and Albert Faggard, Celia Crittenden, Joyce Philen, Jim Loftin, Rachael J. Scott, Phoebe Turner, Emily and John Richardson, Leslie and Jerry Cramer, and Mike Cacioppo and Mary Ellen VonNetzer.

Friends, romans and countrymen… The Beaumont Children’s Museum will host their third annual Casino Night on Friday, Feb., 24 at the Downtown Event Centre. This will be a night of indulgent foods and drinks, gaming, entertaining company and high-rolling fun. Buying a ticket or table will show your support and have a tremendous impact on their educational exhibits, programs and events for the kiddoes. So entertaining… “The Wizard of Oz” was another masterpiece by Beaumont Civic Ballet last Sunday afternoon at the Julie Rogers Theatre. Standing ovation to director Monique Steinhagen and co-director Megan Forgas Anderson. Such incredible talented dancers showed their skills in Emerie Callas, Avery Jackson, Sienna Peterson, Lily Hebert, Lucy Hallmark, Sophie Madden, Evelyn Buckner, Olivia de la Madrid, Mustapha Williams, Haley Weatherford, Elise Rogers, Gabriela de la Madrid, Jules Williams, Trisha Montojo, Inara Bonnette, and so many amazing young talented dancers in our fair city! Cannot wait to see next spring’s “Alice in Wonderland” and, of course, “The Nutcracker” later this year. Bravo!

News of I do’s… Caroline Kinsel and Travis White exchanged wedding vows last Friday evening. Best wishes!
