Smashing success

Quite the evening for Bishop David Toups and the inaugural For the Good Gala last Saturday evening at the Beaumont Civic Center. This fundraiser for the Catholic Diocese of Beaumont proved to be a popular summer event. Karen Do, executive director, did an outstanding job coordinating this successful soirée. The youthful and energetic Bishop Toups welcomed guests and stood for over an hour taking photos with all the participants. More than 35 silent auctions certainly peaked the interest of many bidders as did the three live auction items – Safari Hunt, courtesy of Gay and Bill Scott; Bourbon Tasting and dinner organized by Evan Herrera, Messina’s Liquor, Seafood Lover, Jack’s Pak-It, Kelly Patrizi, Lori Carter and Susanne and Don Maloney; and Dinner Around the World with the Bishop, which was coordinated by the Holly Family Retreat Center, Sr. Theresa Ho, Giuseppe Mannella, Fr. Antony Paulose and Fr. Joseph Sigur. Enjoying the evening were Kelli and Paul Trevino, Suzanne and David Jones, Julie Edson, Gerri Giglio, Jo Beth and Mike Jenkins, Matt Novosad, Karen and Bob Wortham, Pat and Craig Sherlock, Becky and Rodney Ames, Terri and E. Jay Sherlock, Regina Rogers, Mark Kabula, Connie and Milt Prewitt, Rusty Chimeno, Dean Terrebonne, Crissy and Bill Darling, Paulette and Paul Guidroz, Linda and Joe Domino, Pat Klein, Laurie and Frank Maida, Sherrie and Jeff Branick, and way too many to mention.
