Good times still rolling

St. Anthony Catholic School hosted their 23rd annual Mardi Gras Gala and honored Geneva and Joe Peters. Bernadette Nguyen, the new principal and Gala Chair Rosemary Martin were thrilled with the success of the event.  Fr. Anthony McFarland and Renee Brown served as the emcees and Milt Prewitt did a great job as auctioneer. In the mix were Fr. Shane Baxter (new St. Anthony Cathedral pastor/rector), Mark Fiorenza, Cassie Simpson, Christina and Josh Crawford, Bishop David L. Cocktails and chips… Friends of the Beaumont Children’s Museum descended on the Event Centre last Friday evening for the annual Casino Night Caesar’s Palace Gala wearing either cocktail or toga attire. Executive Director Amanda Yarborough welcomed guests with libations and roulette tables, and all other type of gaming activities for charity. Dressed to the nines were Brittney and Tim Ferguson, Sarah and Seth Wells, Liza and Kevin Waddell, Nicole and Austin Williams, Lindsey Sanderson, Heather and Warren Wise, Skylar and Stetson Wood, Lindsay and Baylor Wortham, Blake Yarborough, Emily and Brock Wilson, Ashley and Ben Case, Keri and Justin Collins, Lindsay and Nicholas Brake, Kristie and Chad Aycock, Chris Boone, Sarah and Jared Abshire, Hope and Chad Anderson, Piper Lenoir, Lauren and Chad Mason, Nelda and JJ McDonald, Jana and John Moore, Brie and John Morrell, Anna and Anthony Papa, Cynthia Roland, Meredith Stokes, Rebecca and Dan Tatum, Ashley and A.J. Sensational performance… multi-talented Cheryl Guidry gathered so many amazing voices and performers for the uplifting (and hilarious) performance of “Sister Act” at Beaumont Community Players, which runs through March 11. It is truly one of the most entertaining events in our fair city and is a must see! A standing ovation to many of the actors including Marshey Smith, Pamela Raney Jackson, Jael Moody, Caroline Barnett, Krista Courts, Jeff Counts, Brandon Rhodes, Andrew Gautreaux, Tim Foster, Bailey Jenkins, Leyni Illa-Petersen, Jo Fuller, Sarah Howlett, Krystal Sanchez, Justine Morrow, Jonathan Castille, Virginia Johnson, Rees Meadows, Kelly Morgan, Russell Smith, Chelsea Traylor Kylee Tullier and Carrie Wilson. Kudos to production crew of Dexter Broussard, Vera Berry, Janice Pattillo, Jerry McMillan, Aaron Lanni, David Neal Austin Rollins, Daniella Lopez-Rosa, and iRule dancers Aralyn Arline, Julie Johnston, Erin Harris, Jenna Robertson, Chesney Kling and Ally Rose. Congrats to Executive Director John Manfredi of BCP for his vision in bringing amazing shows to our town!

What a line up… the Junior League of Beaumont is ready to dance the night away this Friday, March 3, at their seventh annual Dancing with the Stars of SETX at the Civic Center at 7 p.m. Chairing is Allison Wright with co-chair Erin Godina. Committee members are Megan Mistric, Shelby Kelly Amanda Heironimus, Abby Keen, Marissa Baze, Hannah Stark, Rebekah Cooper, Kaitlyn Koch and Kristen Davidson. The Stars and studios are Andrew McClusky and April Tolbert (iRule), Sadé Chick and Everett Green (Ashlands), Amy Peevey and Chris Kovatch (Thayer Dance), Ines Alvidres and Nick Lampson (Cokinos School of Dance), Kristine Banks Dahl and Dante Miller (BISD Dance Academy), Courtney White and Chad Lapray (Exygon), Ali Doty and Elton Hollis (Lancaster) and Kathryn Messina and Morgan Walker (Marsha Woody Academy). Who will win the Mirror Ball Trophy?
