Dance all day long

It was a night of dancing for a cause as a sold-out crowd packed the Beaumont Civic Center for the Junior League of Beaumont’s popular Dancing with the Stars of Southeast Texas fundraiser. Eight couples vied for the Mirror Ball trophy. Choreographing the creative dance numbers were CharLee Hanna-Rule, Amanda Cogswell, Haley Mosely, Kadie Lancaster Dornak, Emma Hunter Davis, Bekah Guedry, Monique Zummo Steinhagen, Tammy Anderud, Megan Anderson, Christi Thayer Kovatch, Courtnie Mercer and Farren Morris. All of the dancers had a huge turnout of friends and family cheering them on to success. Judges Jefferson Fisher, Natasha Garrett and Ray Callas had a tough task, but awarded first place was Sadé Chick and Everett Green. The crow selected April Tolbert and Andrew McClusky as the fan favorites! Applauding all the couples were Margaret Green, Regina Rogers, Johnnie and Joe Broussard, Rachel Crutchfield, Michele Smith, Annie Green, Mark Kubala, Gwendolyn Lavalais, Mary Green, Charlie West, Emily Trevino, Lea and Hart Green, Adele Green, Brittney Ferguson, Lauren Welch, Crystal King, Nicole and Austin Williams, Trisha and Roy West, Pinkee and Devin Harley, Jennifer and Mark Phelan, Amanda and Cody Heronimus, Ashton and Nate Marchand, Dana Johnson, Jo Bienvenu, Kathryn and Jason Fuller, Hillary Shanning, Sarah and Seth Wells, Lindsay and Baylor Wortham, Madison Gober, Nick Leasure, Marc McDonald, Katie Wallis, Hester Bell, Allison Wright, Erin Godina, Anna and Anthony Papa, Sierra Fisher, Christine Stetson, Maureen Winchell, and too many more to mention. So exited… about Lamar University’s Centennial LU Celebration LeGrand Bal this Saturday, March 25. LU Friends of the Arts will hoor past chairs of Le Grand Bal for an evening of dinner and dancing, and a silent art auction, which is 6-7:30 p.m. Patrons will then move to the Setzer Student Center for a night of booging with the band, Still Cruisin’. See you there!

Sensational sounds… The McFaddin-Ward House welcomes the community to enjoy live entertainment on its beautiful grounds for their “Music at the McFaddin’s” featuring Beaumont’s own Night & Day Orchestra on Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and snacks as they gather on the historic home’s lawn at 1906 Calder Ave.

A lifetime of happiness… Bambi and Joe Chapman celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary March 18 at the MCM Eleganté Grand Ballroom with nearly 300 family and friends. The loving hubby planned the party as a surprise for his bride to mark 16,071 days of marriage to “the most “beautiful girl in Texas.” The evening began with wine, champagne, then delightful speeches from the happy couple. Music was provided by country music star Neal McCoy and up and comer Jon Stark. A benefit auction with autographed jerseys and other sports memorabilia from the Astros, Cowboys and Houston Oilers were provided by the precious couple, and proceeds benefitted the Pediatric Palliative Care Program with locations in Beaumont and Texas City. Son Shane Chapman was thrilled with all the accolades and wonderful words about his parents. Congrats!
