Yes, they can dance… the Junior League of Beaumont’s seventh annual Dancing with the Stars of Southeast Texas saw the Mirror Ball trophy go to Sadé Chick and Everett Green. The tandem of April Tolbert and Andrew McClusky won Fan Favorite. More on this next week!

Putting our city on the map… Kudos to Christina Lokey, Dean Conwell, Min Dai and artist J Muzacz for putting together the second Beaumont Mural Festival and adding so much incredible color to our fair city. If you haven’t driven or biked downtown, stop what you are doing and head that way. These amazing murals can be seen on Calder, McFaddin, Magnolia, Laurel, Liberty, Main, Orleans, Highland, Cedar and Washington streets. Making our city proud one mural at a time!

Music to our ears… While many were saddened that Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. were unable to perform at the Symphony of Southeast Texas last weekend due to an illness, most were thrilled that Peabo Bryson did not disappoint. Enjoying his magical vocals were Sandra Clark, Jo Vance, Pat Klein, Betty Clark, Suzanne and Don Maloney, Kim Luckie, Karla Quinn, Alicia and Charles Daleo, Pati and Floyd McSpadden, Celia Crittenden, and so many more. A truly entertaining evening.

Event co-chairs are Mike Roebuck, Verna Rutherford and Tim Sudela. Honorary co-chairs are John Adolph, Mark Kubala, Joe Penland and Bob Wortham. See you there!
