Guys knight out
The 75th Neches River Festival hosted Knight’s Night Out last Wednesday evening at 5 Under Golf. Super couple Emily (event chair) and Jeff Wheeler (Chair of the Knights) spearheaded then standing room only affair. Fuller McSpadden, President LXXV, and his bride Taylor, Queen Neches LII, greeted most of the guests, and Ashley Bryan (Social Chair LXXV) was all smiles as she welcomed family and friends. In the mix were Lauren and David Thieme (recruitment chair), Miranda and James Looney, Brian Jaynes, Julie and Matt Matheny, Wyatt Snider, Jeff Fairchild, Jennifer and Peter Maida, Lindi and Douglass Conner, Julie and Bob Edson, Elyse and Charley Jones, Camille Briggs, Stephanie and Bernie Daleo (past Social Chair and Pres), Nicole and Jeremy Saba (again past SC and Pres), Ashlie and JC Colgan, Rebecca and Chris Hill, Apryl and Jason Mensah, Brooke and Mike Morrow, Kaye Ellen and Justin Huff, Rachel and Miles Haynes, Celia and Craig Messer, Gigi Mazzola, Elaine Henderson, Charlie Pierce, Haylee Faggard, Emily and Brock Wilson, Eric Meadows, Christine and Josh Crawford, John Bullard, Michael Serna, Austin Huff, Kaitlyn Koch, Jason Young, Ashlie and Will Carter, Clarke Baker, Baylor Wortham, Amanda and Cody Heironimus, Andrew Victores, Taryn and Jason Bienvenu and too many more to mention. With this great of turnout, the NRF is off to a sensational start!
Seeing green… A few weeks ago, Gina and Colby Crenshaw hosted community leaders at their home to share updated information about the work of Green Dot Public Schools Southeast Texas Senior Development Advisor Stephanie Glass Flatten introduced the leadership team, who shared the progress that was made in year one of operations at Dr. Martin Luther King Middle School. Principal Marian Williams presented the new programs and plans for the school year and described ways for the community to get involved. Enthusiastic guests included Joe Evans, Janiece Austin, Nakisha Burns, Ashley and Ben Case, Joy and Will Crenshaw, Stefanie Goldsmith, Gillian and Will Jenkins, Laurie and Shea Kent, Mike Jenkins and Tonya and Mitch Toups.
So deserving… Invites are out for Temple Emanuel’s annual fundraiser Rabbi Samuel J. Rosinger Humanitarian Award Dinner. This year’s event will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Downtown Event Centre. Honorees include Allison Getz and Dr. James R. Fuller. The featured speaker will be Anna Salton Eisen, a leading voice in Holocaust education. See you there!
Suddenly they appeared… If you are wondering how dozens of large Gift of Life pink ribbons appeared magically throughout Southeast Texas, it was by the tremendous efforts of YMBL volunteers. The project is orchestrated by chair Gary Wallace and co-chair Brad Pennison, along with Executive Director Chris Colleti. Kudos!
New of I do’s… Aislinn Phelan and Joel Higgins tied the knot last Saturday afternoon at The Lodge at Pipkin Ranch in front of family and friends. Sister Madison and brother Dennis Phelan joined their sibling in the wedding party. Parents Cecille and Harry Phelan were thrilled with the marriage merger. Others family members in attendance were Margaret Phelan Green, Lee and Hart Green, Janey and Michael Phelan, Annie Green and others. Congrats!
Last Sunday… precious young couple Riley Chandler and Reid Swantner exchanged “I do’s” overlooking White Rock Lake in North Texas. In attendance were parents of the couple, Melissa and Guy Chandler, Jenifer Gordy, Justus Swantner along with family members Catherine Swantner, Marvin Gordy, Sara Gordy, Baxter Ferguson, Johanna and Matt Brown, Frances Brown Harrison, dear friends Kathryn and Patrick Phelan, Maris Mehaffy, Paige Windham, Rachael and Stephen Roane, Mary Margaret Roane and Nick Prewitt, Lee and Scott Mann, Lylse Shaw, Michele Smith, Elizabeth and Russ Waddill, Grayson and David Reese and Robert Parker. A fun-filled weekend celebration of a fantastic family!
