Beaumont United names Colbert Sr. new head football coach

Beaumont ISD named Darrel Colbert Sr. as the Beaumont United High School head football coach and campus coordinator. A press conference will be held at noon on Monday, March 28, at the Jackson Performing Arts Center inside Beaumont United High School.

Colbert is a graduate of West Brook High School where he was a member of the Bruins' 1982 5A state football championship. He comes to Beaumont from Houston Westbury High School where he was the head football coach and athletic coordinator. Colbert is also the father of from Lamar University quarterback Darrel Colbert Jr., who led the Cardinals to the team's only FCS Playoff appearance in 2018.
