Legacy Christian senior R.J. Jackson became only the third player in school history to score 1,000 points throughout their high school career. Jackson is a four-year starter on the court and also played football for the Warriors.

Buna senior Garrison Connell also joined the 1,000-point club Jan. 27 when the Cougars defeated Kirbyville, 84-54.

Former Legacy Christian standout Alexis Morris and senior for No. 3 and undefeated LSU wasd named on the Nancy Lieberman Award Watchlist by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as one of the Top 10-point guards across the country in women’s basketball.

The 5-6 guard from Beaumont is coming off a career-high 31 points on Jan. 30 in a 76-68 win over Tennessee. Morris played 39 minutes as she added six rebounds and a season-high six steals to one of the best performances of her career. She also went 11-23 from the field and shot an impressive 8-9 from the free-throw line.
