It rained aces for area golfers last week as three golfers from Southeast Texas joined the illustrious hole-in-one club including Carrie Evans, of Lumberton, who was participating in the Mesquite World Amateur Tournament at the Coral Canyon Golf Course in Washington, Utah.

With Valerie Robbins, Lori DesRuisseaux and Karen Bridges watching, Evans used a pitching wedge on the 85-yard Hole 6 to capture the spectacular feat.

During the same tournament, Pat Jarrett of Beaumont finished third in her flight, while Valeria Conerly of Vidor finished second in her respective flight. Each qualified to play in the Championship where Jarrett tied for 16th and Conerly 60th.

Others participating in the Mesquite World Amateur Tournament were Jody George of Beaumont and Debbie LeBlanc of Orange.

Two golfers carded aces on the same day at the same golf course Saturday, June 4, at Sunset Grove Country Club in Orange.

Shea Landry, a coach at Bridge City High School, was on Hole 14 when he used a 7-iron from 161 yards out. Witnessing were Cory Gilroy, Jerrod Dugas, Skylar Petroski and Blaze Montagne.

Jason French used a 5-wood on a 256-yard Par 4 on Hole 17 to join the hole-in-one club.
