Lumberton ISD Athletic Director James Reyes announced Theresa Reyes is the new Lumberton High School head volleyball and head track coach.

She replaces Kaila Foster, who spent one season as the team’s head volleyball coach and Jake Smith, who became the athletic director and head football coach at Hardin ISD.

In 2019, Reyes won the 500th game of her coaching career at La Vernia High School, near San Antonio. She comes into the 2022 season with 594 career wins.

In 2021, she coached in the Texas Girls Coaches Association all-star volleyball game from Class 1A-4A

Reyes noted she has coached numerous collegiate athletes starting her 24th year of teaching and coaching. In tracks, Reyes produced numerous state qualifiers.

Her son, Ty, will be a sophomore at LHS.

Her daughter, Christa Reyes, played women’s volleyball at Tarleton State University. Under her mother, she was a four-time all-district and three-time all-state player.
