Aquatic officers find deceased body

At about 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) Marine Division deputies discovered a deceased body floating in the Neches River.

According to a news release, the body was secured and taken to the Port Neches Park boat ramp, where Judge Derouen responded and ordered an autopsy. Officials transported the body to the Jefferson County morgue and have not yet identified the person.
