At least 146 Beaumont-area residents tested positive for COVID-19 Aug. 3, according to Beaumont Mayor Robin Mouton’s daily update.

That number includes 132 Beaumont residents, as well as two from China, four from Nome, two from Hamshire, five from Fannett and one from Bevil Oaks. To date, Beaumont has confirmed 10,500 positive COVID-19 cases and fully vaccinated 83,737 of its population over the age of 12, which amounts to 40%.

Free vaccination appointments are available at a number of local pharmacies, health clinics and hospitals. Interested residents can make appointments by calling Baptist Hospital, Beaumont EMS, the Beaumont Public Health Department, as well as at major pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens, Sam’s Club or HEB.
