Little Cypress Mauriceville High School, Lumberton Career & Technical Education, and Beaumont Early College High School are among several schools that are being recognized for their commitment to saving lives.

May 12, Brooke Hulett with LifeShare Blood Center, presented Little Cypress Mauriceville with a $1,420 educational scholarship. May 16, Lumberton Career & Technical Education was presented with a $2,190 educational scholarship. The awards come after both schools collected over 360 units of life-saving blood during the 2021-2022 school year.

Each year, LifeShare awards more than $40,000 in scholarships to schools in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas that encourages students and educators to roll up their sleeves to help patients in local hospitals. Young donors are also asked to give. Teenagers can begin donating blood once they turn 16 years old and can donate as often as every 56 days.
