Sunday, Aug. 15, officers with the Port Arthur Police Department arrested an individual they claim is responsible for multiple thefts involving catalytic converters. According to information from the arresting agency, Port Arthur police made contact with the suspect in the 7200 block of Lake Arthur at approximately 4:30 a.m. in response to a call alerting emergency responders to a theft in progress.

Once on the scene, officers advised that the suspect evaded detention, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. Sgt. T. Paul reports that the catalytic converter metal was recovered from the suspect, and the incident is still under investigation.
