Motorists traveling on southbound U.S. 96 into the Parkdale Mall area will have to find alternate routes as the U.S. 69 south entrance and exit ramp at Dowlen Road will be closed for approximately three months, according to a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) traffic alert.
Jan. 20, the entrance ramp to U.S. 69 southbound from Dowlen Road and the entrance ramp to U.S. 69 southbound from the from Dowlen Road are closed for construction associated with the U.S. 69 widening project.
The adjacent frontage road to the ramps will go down to one lane of traffic.
TxDOT advises that northbound drivers coming into the area need to take the State Highway 105 exit ramp.
The project to widen U.S. 69 from I-10 to the Lower Neches Valley Authority Canal is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
